France is globally recognised for its long wine history, which dates back to the 7th century BC (when the first Greek trading posts were established on the Southern shores). Today, wine undoubtedly remains an integral part of French culture, the latter having been heavily influenced by wine’s cultivation throughout the ages, such that France is known as ‘The country of wine’. Today, France has no less than 85,000 wineries, the vast majority of which consist of small winemakers who sell directly to local private clients, while not having the infrastructure to sell internationally. With this knowledge, Thomas Mangin - winemaker in Roussillon - and Adrien Niclot - China-based sommelier - decided to bring several winemakers together and launch the concept of ‘Soir d’Ivresse’. By gathering these winemakers’ productions under one label ‘Soir d’Ivresse’, this union aims to create a link between international wine lovers and those small French winemakers. The French poetic name ‘Soir d’Ivresse’ recalls the first evening when this group of winemakers decided to launch their common project to promote their wines.
